Drone industry
Summer of 2011, I began camera operating and visual observing with close friend and pilot, Brian Dalrymple. The first drone that we operated was a Droidworx AD HL88 Octo-Copter. First of many drone systems that we would operate together as we took on the drone industry during it’s infancy.
Many hours of problem solving, intellectual curiosity, maintenance and on location operating have provided me with hands on experience as a pilot, camera operator and visual observer. Projects to include commercial and feature film work, as well as aerial inspection and survey.

Part 107 Certified. I have been piloting since 2013, with experience operating the DJI Inspire, DJI Phantom Series, Mavic Air and 3DR Solo. Beginner to Intermediate level training in Pix4D and Drone Deploy software.

I wore many hats while working at BD Aerial from 2012 to 2017. Starting out in September 2012, I worked as camera operator and visual observer for all commercial and film projects. Duties to include:
Pre-shoot preparation of all drone equipment including battery charging, camera prep, remote controllers, video downlink and travel case organization.

During Flight: Camera Operator / Visual Observer
Gimbals I've Operated: AV200, DJI Zenmuse, Freefly Systems Movi Series

I was Visual Observer on most utility projects ranging from Powerline Inspection for Pacific Power, Alaska Electric Light & Power to Survey and LIDAR projects for the Skagit Tribes, Campbell Global, Geo Engineers and Eugene Water and Electric Board.

March 2012 - Camera Operator | Visual Observer | Business Development/Operations
Traveled throughout California and Oregon to film BirdieEye partnered golf courses. The aerial video footage is viewable on the online web platform and the BirdieEye Mobile App. I was in charge of business development, cold calling golf courses and getting them scheduled to film.
On location I was in charge of golf cart driving hole per hole as we flew the drone from tee box to green, while visual observing and camera operating. Multi-tasking at it's finest.
When I wasn't on the course filming or in the office handling business development. Data entry was my job, the backend of the BirdieEye web platform and mobile app needed: tee number, par, yardage, and GPS coordinate information added.
